To register a new boat/snowmobile/atv, please:

 

1.   If you purchased your unit from a dealer, application forms and fees are usually                          prepared and collected at the time of sale and mailed directly to the Recorder’s Office.   If you did not purchase your new unit through a dealer, please see below:

 

2.  Within thirty days of purchase take to the County Recorder:

a)      Bill of Sale showing tax paid or Sales Tax Exemption Certificate (if tax exempt); and

b)      Boats:   Manufacturer Statement of Origin.   Snows/atvs:  Certificate of Origin or other document showing serial number, model number and cc’s.   Documents must be signed by the dealer; and

c)      Registration Application form (available on-line, in office or by a dealer); and

d)      Title Application form (if required – available on line, in office or by a dealer.

 

1.      All snowmobiles, atvs and boats 17 feet or longer must also be titled.  Title fees are $10.00.   This is a one time fee at the time of initial registration only.  Liens are also noted on titles and lien fees are $10.00.

 

2.      Complete registration and title applications at Recorder’s Office and pay registration fee and title/lien fees if required.  Boat fees are based on length.  Recreational snowmobile/atv registration fees are $26.25.   Farm exclusive atvs are issued free registrations but are required to have a $10.00 title.   All fees are prorated for even and odd years of the two-year registration period.
